Authentic Stories from Diners
We stopped here on Saturday, and it was truly wonderful. One of the best meals we have ever had. The atmosphere is proper Parisian Brasserie, the location is superb. The service was excellent (friendly and professional) and the food and drink were absolutely first rate. We shared the foie gras, then had Cote de Boeuf (cooked perfectly) with bearnaise and fries, and the risotto for mains. Simply fantastic. A tarte tatin and lemon pie followed and were equally good. We had house champagne and took recommendations on red and white (by the glass) and they were all very good. The highlight of a wonderful weekend in Paris.
Visited during a busy late weekday lunch (around 2pm) and the service of getting our food was quite slow. One of the waiters did not write our order down and as a result, they gave us the wrong dish (which we ate assuming it came with the snails). Other than those nit bits, food and environment is great ~
Came here for their hot chocolate and it was worth it! It was brought to my table quickly. Just the perfect level of sweetness and thickness, complemented by the cream. The host told me that technically this is the Viennese hot chocolate because it comes with the fresh whipped cream. The staff were friendly and gave me a full table seat even though I just wanted the hot chocolate and was by myself. They never made me feel rushed.
Wonderful restaurant near Notre Dame Cathedral. We had the very best meal of veal liver, bacon and steamed potatoes! So good! Friendly service in a quaint restaurant bar full of character!
This Ile Saint-Louis gem was recommended to us for their great bistro food and the recommendations were spot on. The place is very French bistro with plenty of outside tables and a great vibe on a corner with a number of other places. The prices aren’t cheap but as they say you get what you pay for. Well, if you have seen a certain movie from Quentin T with John T and Uma T having dinner at a retro cafe named Jack Rabbit Slims, my first comment was “Is that a 28 euro burger on the menu? It’s got meat, bacon, and cheese on it?” Well I ordered it and I don’t know if that burger was worth €28 but it was a pretty “#%&$” great cheeseburger. V ordered the Croque Madam. It looked great and while I didn’t try it, she said it was the best sandwich she had ever had. While she did offer me a bite, I was mid-burger so missed out. She is a great judge so I’d have to say it must be really really good. The bar and drink menu is great and they have lots of non-alcoholic choices as well which we like so it was a big win all around. And for dessert, we had a caramel eclair which was as good as you would find in any patisserie. Overall great night and great dinner. Total meal with drinks was about €100 but not that bad considering it’s Paris and you’re a stone’s throw from Notre Dame. Enjoy!
